Terms and Conditions...

Cranes, equipment and labour are hired under the attached terms and conditions as published by the Construction Plant Hire Association. Acceptance of the plant on site implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.

HIRE CHARGES
Our 7 ton truck mounted crane is charged on an 8 hour. Minimum hire period per day inclusive of travel time to and from site, 4 hour minimums are available during Normal weekday working only ie: 08.00 - 12.00 or 13.00– 16.00.

Job prices can be negotiated for short duration hires, prior to the work being carried out.

When job prices are quoted this will be based on actual time on site, and will include travel time.
Mini crawler cranes are charged out on a daily, weekly or monthly basis

OTHER CHARGES
Travel time shall be charged at a minimum of 1 hour each Way, or as working time subject to the distance from our Croydon depot.

Mini crawler cranes are delivered to site via a van and trailer and a delivery / collection charge will be made in addition to hire rate depending on the distant from our Croydon depot.

Operators overtime is chargeable at current rates before 08.00 and after 16.00 weekdays, all day weekends and Bank Holidays, per hour per man

Site bonus payments will be charged extra at cost plus a surcharge to cover the increased N.I contributions.

CANCELLATION
Full hire charges will be raised in the event of a cancellation of confirmed order unless 48 hours notice is given.

AVAILABILITY
Offers are made subject to availability at the time of hire and subject to our being able to supply from our own fleet. We reserve the right to supply a crane of larger capacity than ordered.

V.A.T
The prices quoted do not include VAT which will be charged at the rate prevailing at the time of hire.

QUOTATIONS
All quotations will remain open to acceptance for a period of 30 days, after which they would be subject to confirmation. Acceptance Of the quotation by the customer must be either in writing, or verbally by an authorized person quoting an official order number.

PROVISION OF SLINGS AND TACKLE
We will provide our standard selection of slings and tackle and no responsibility is accepted for loss or delay if these are found to be unsuitable for the purpose required. We do not accept responsibility for the correct use of the lifting equipment, or for the method of slinging.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR SLINGING, HANDLING AND SUPERVISION
We are not responsible for planning, supervising or controlling your lifting operation on site, our operator will make contact with your appointed person on site and obtain a signature confirming our terms and conditions prior to starting work.

ACCESS / AUTHORITY / ROAD CLOSURES
We are to have free and unrestricted access to all areas of operation. The road / site must be clear of all obstructions. The hirer is fully responsible for ensuring that the ground conditions are in every way suitable for the crane to travel over and work on. We accept no responsibility for any damage to roadways, footpaths, manhole covers and any gas, water , electric or telephone services (above or below ground)
Permission to operate a crane on the public highway must be approved by the local authorities. We can arrange this on your behalf, and will require a minimum of 8 weeks notice to arrange a full road closure, and 3 weeks notice for a partial road closure. All costs initiated by the local authorities in Respect of permits, road closures, suspension of parking meters / bus stops and any other ancillary costs will be payable in full at the time of application. Warning: Cancelled road closure costs are not refundable.

INSURANCE
You are responsible for insuring the crane against loss or damage together with continuing hire charges, goods being lifted, and public liability and shall indemnify the company against any loss or claim arising therefrom. In the event of a “CONTRACT LIFT” the above cover is included within the quoted Price.

PAYMENT / TERMS
Cheque collected on day of hire. All major Credit/Debit Cards accepted. On approved credit accounts, Terms of payment are strictly 30 days net from date of invoice.

Insurance Cover

To ensure compliance with BS 7121 (Safe Use of Cranes) we wish to bring to your attention the following regarding Insurance Cover required throughout the duration of hire.

Any price quoted will NOT allow for automatic Insurance Cover.

We can offer two types of Hire as follows:

CPA CRANE HIRE
You as the hirer are responsible for the following:
1. Loss of or damage to our plant whilst on site. We to advise value of plant at the time of hire.
2. Continuing hire charges whilst the plant is off the road for repairs following damage.
3. Injury to our driver/operator.
4.Injury to other parties, including damage to their property, arising from the crane operation.
5. Loss or damage to the goods being lifted.
6. Supply an appointed person / lift supervisor to whom our operator will report to on site.
7. Supply suitable slingers and signalers under the control of the lift supervisor.

We can supply at additional cost, limited cover on items 1 & 2 if you do not have a hired in plant policy. (Please contact for further details)

CPA CONTRACT LIFT
We to supply appointed person, and all lifting personnel to take complete control of the lifting operation, and would include the following Insurance Cover.

Loss of or damage to plant and other property caused solely by the Owners negligence in the performance of the lifting contract subject to:

A). Maximum liability of Twenty Five Thousand Pounds in respect of goods lifted.
B). Maximum liability of Five Million Pounds in respect of loss or damage to other property and injury to persons.

This cover can be increased at additional cost upon request.
